Miriam González Durántez, the Spanish wife of Nick Clegg (British Deputy Prime Minister & Leader of the Liberal Democrats), looks set to join the board of Acciona, the multinational Spanish property company, which has a large Real Estate division. The company specialises in enormous infrastructural projects, such as road building, and also has interests in energy production, environment, transport and water desalination plants.
It is thought that the company is looking to expand internationally, and with this in mind are proposing the appointment of González Durántez, who is a lawyer and a member of St. Anthony's College in Oxford University, to the Board of Directors at the next meeting on the 10th June. They propose that she occupies the role of Independent Advisor to the company.
